Two people taken to hospital after crash closed road into village

Two people were taken to hospital after a crash at a junction in Lingdale.

Police closed off Stanghow Road from the Skelton direction into the village after the crash on Wednesday evening.

Several police vehicles and paramedics could be seen in the area following the incident.

The North East Ambulance Service attended and two people were taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

A spokesperson for the service said: “We were called just before 5.45pm to reports of a road traffic accident on Stanghow Road.

“We dispatched two ambulance crews and transported two patients to James Cook Hospital.”
