Teessiders will no doubt rejoice that it won’t be too long until beer gardens and outdoor bars reopen next week.
Pubs and bars with outdoor space say they’ve had an “unbelievable” response with many venues “completely booked up” for April 12.
The Government’s roadmap out of lockdown will allow businesses to serve customers sitting outdoors, including alcohol, while the ‘substantial meal’ rule won’t apply.
And pubs also won’t be subject to the controversial curfews that were imposed when lockdown restrictions were lifted previously.
Venues with outdoor areas will be the first to welcome back punters, while on May 17 indoor hospitality is set to reopen.
However, it will not have a booking system.
A number of hospitality businesses have used the third lockdown to make improvements – including in their beer gardens – but say there is “no need to book”.
With that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of all beer gardens on Teesside that we know are taking bookings ahead of reopening.
If we’ve missed any do let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll add them in as soon as we can!
